Have you just arrived in our wondrous little area? We look forward to meeting you!
We can't wait to meet you and are so excited you're joining our wonderful little area! There are some great people to meet here. A welcome committee is ready to introduce you to some of them; we hope we didn’t miss you! Join us at a meeting or send an email to nackawicareawellness@gmail.com.
In an age-friendly community, the policies, services and structures related to the physical and social environment are designed to help seniors "age actively." In other words, the community is set up to help seniors live safely, enjoy good health and stay involved. This benefits everyone in the community because when our seniors do well we all do!
Find out what the Government of Canada says this designation means below!
Wheels 2 Wellness is a Nackawic & Area Wellness program designed to provide assistance to those in need of travel to and from medical appointments within the Nackawic-Millville Rural community and Central York.
Trips to and from appointments within the community are provided for a fee of $5 with 48 hours' notice of request.
For appointments outside of the Nackawic-Millville Rural community, a $20 fee applies as well as any parking fees.
To ensure the most efficient use of the vehicle, the dispatcher may coordinate shared rides. Each passenger will be required to pay the $20 fee, and appointment times may be adjusted to accommodate shared rides.Â
Wheels 2 Wellness drivers receive an honorarium provided through grants and fundraising.
All Wheels 2 Wellness requests are to be made through the W2W phone number or email below.
Any donations to Nackawic and Area Wellness or W2W are always welcome.
