Get ready to hit the road! Nackawic & Area Wellness is hosting a Car Rally on Saturday, September 27. Registration is $10 per team, with prizes for the top three competitors and for the best decorated car.
What is a Car Rally? It’s a fun community event where teams follow a set route, solving clues, taking photos, and collecting items along the way. The goal is to complete the course in the right time while enjoying the challenge. Please remember to obey all traffic laws.
After the rally, everyone is invited to a BBQ at the Big Axe picnic area.
To register, please contact Ronnie Boyle at 1-705-340-8846 or ironnieboyle@gmail.com. After registering, send your $10 registration fee by e-transfer to nackawicareawellness@gmail.com.
The Nackawic and Area Wellness Committee Volunteer of the month for August 2025, Rahshida Atkinson and Derek Atkinson
Rashida and Derek Atkinson go above and beyond in their roles as basketball coaches. They dedicate countless hours to coaching, planning, and ensuring that every child has fun at practices and games. In addition to developing skills on the court, they organize team-building activities on their own time and consistently foster a positive and inclusive environment.
They keep a close eye on fairness and make a point of supporting students who may be left out or picked on. Their commitment spans across multiple age groups, coaching elementary, middle school girls and boys, and high school boys teams. Without their involvement, many of these opportunities simply would not be available to the youth in our community.
Their leadership, dedication, and heart make a lasting impact.
For over 60 years, Danny has been a dedicated part of our community. His consistent support at The Gathering Place has been invaluable, and he’s cheered on countless local hockey and volleyball teams along the way. A fascinating conversationalist, Danny always brings insight and good humour to every chat. Thank you, Danny, for your kindness, encouragement, and service

We’re excited to launch Color Me — a brand new program designed to support creative expression and help reduce social isolation through the simple joy of coloring.
Coloring programs around the world have shown a wide range of benefits, including:
✔️ Stress reduction
✔️ Memory recall
✔️ Improved fine motor skills
✔️ Enhanced focus and emotional wellness
Whether you’re new to coloring or have been filling pages for years, Color Me is a welcoming space to relax, create, and connect with others.
🖍️ We can’t wait to color with you!
I’m really excited to share that Nackawic & Area Wellness is hosting our very first Garden Tour Fundraiser! 🌿🌸
What is it? It’s a chance to explore some of the most beautiful gardens right here in our community. With your $5 ticket, you’ll get a map of all the stops and be entered into a draw that we’ll hold at The Gathering Place.
🗓️ It’s happening Sunday, July 20 (with a rain date of July 27), and I can’t wait to walk through and see all the amazing work our neighbours have put into their spaces.
🎟️ Tickets are just $5 and will be available at The Gathering Place from 2–4 PM on June 19, 20, and 21 — or you can e-transfer to nackawicareawellness@gmail.com if that’s easier.
If you love gardens, community, or just want a relaxing afternoon out, come join us! It’s going to be a lovely day.
